It was the site of his greatest triumph.

Kevin Harvick won the 2014 NASCAR Cup Series title at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the first year of the knockout-style playoffs format.

“I think the single best race has to be Homestead of 2014, just with the way everything went and the great call and the race at the end and everything that happened with coming to Stewart-Haas Racing that first year,” Harvick told NASCAR.com.

“All the adversity that we had at the beginning of the year, how fast the cars were, and then putting it all together in one day to win the championship, I think that single race is probably the one that I would circle just because of everything that happened and everything that it summarized and wound up, ultimately, with a championship at the end.”

Having announced his retirement from full-time driving at the end of the 2023 season, Harvick’s trip back to the track on October 22nd will likely be his last behind the wheel.

The track and sponsor Mobil 1 already surprised him by renaming the race the 4EVER 400 by Mobil 1. 4EVER is a reference to Harvick’s car number and the slogan that’s been used to commemorate his final season.

Stewart-Haas racing has revealed that instead of Harvick’s familiar Busch Light sponsor paint scheme, he’ll be driving a red and white Budweiser-sponsored car just like the one he drove to the title in 2014.

the biggest change is the location of the number, which has been moved forward on the Next Gen Cup Series car.

Harvick qualified for the 2023 playoffs, but didn’t advance past the first round and is still looking for his first win of the season, which would be the 61st of his career.
