Stellantis Cancels SEMA, L.A. Auto Show Plans Due To UAW Strike
Dodge, Ram, Jeep and the other Stellantis brands won’t be on hand at the upcoming SEMA Show and L.A. Auto Show as the automaker has pulled out of both due to the ongoing UAW strike.
“As the costs of the ongoing UAW strike continue to mount, Stellantis has decided to cancel its planned display and all other presentations … as part of its contingency plan,” the automaker said in a press release.
Stellantis had previously confirmed that it was cancelling its participation at CES in January for the same reason.
Its Mopar parts division had already announced two custom vehicle launches for the SEMA Show, which kicks off on October 31.
One is called the Jolt, which appears from a teaser image to be a classic Dodge model equipped with an electric powertrain, and the other is a Ram 2500 pickup outfitted with off-road accessories.
Stellantis hadn’t said what to expect at the L.A. Show that follows on November 16, but it has several new models in the works for next year, including an updated Ram 1500 and the production version of the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT electric muscle car.
