Mopar Jolt Could Be An Electric Shock To The Custom Car World
It looks like Mopar is going to electrify the SEMA Show.
The Stellantis performance parts division is teasing an interesting reveal at the upcoming event in Las Vegas, which is scheduled for Oct. 31 to Nov. 3.
Mopar released a single illustration of what appears to be the vented hood of a classic Dodge or Plymouth muscle car with a blue light shining through one of the slots.
The name and image suggest there’s an electric motor in there, but Mopar hasn’t offered any additional information.
Last year, Mopar unveiled a custom Jeep CJ called the Surge at SEMA that had a concept electric crate motor in it that was rated at 268 hp and fed power to all four wheels through a two-speed transfer case.
Unlike Ford and GM, Mopar hasn’t yet put something like it on sale, but with the V8-powered Dodge Charger and Challenger making way for an electric muscle car based on the Charger Daytona SRT concept next year, it’s probably only a matter of time before it does.
