Kevin Hart’s ‘Droppa’ 1969 Pontiac GTO Custom Drops At SEMA
It’s hot.
Holley has unveiled a custom 1969 Pontiac GTO commissioned by comedian Kevin Hart at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
Hart nicknamed the Mercedes Mystic Brown coupe “Droppa” after his rapper alias, Chocolate Droppa.
The build is a collaboration between Holley and North Carolina’s Detroit Speed & Engineering.

“This ‘69 GTO was purchased by me for a close friend who wasn’t a classic car fan and instead of returning such a great muscle car, I decided to build it into a restomod,†Hart said.
The project took three years to complete.

Hart started working with illustrator Tavis Highlander on the look of the car during the early days of the coronavirus pandemic before work was able to commence.
The car retains its original frame, but it’s been strengthened and equipped with modernized suspensions designed by Detroit Speed with coilover shocks at all four corners.
A dressed-up 755 horsepower GM LT5 6.2L crate engine based on the one from the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 provides power to the rear wheels through a six-speed Bowler TREMEC transmission with a Hurst shifter and a GearFX Ford 9-inch rear.
The original bodywork wasn’t in great shape and most of it was replaced and lightly modified. The scoops on the hood are a few inches forward from stock to clear the LT5’s supercharger and the front end is a custom design that aims to stay close to the stock car’s styling.
The interior is all-new and trimmed in cream, cognac and gold upholstery and metal accents, the latter matching the car’s HRE Valkyrja 20-inch wheels.

After SEMA, Droppa will head to California to be a part of an 11-car “Kollection” of Hart’s cars that he will be displaying at the L.A. Auto Show.
