The Kia Sorento is going back to its roots … a little.
The three-row midsize SUV has been given a mid-cycle refresh for 2024 that includes the addition of a new X-Pro model with added off-road capability.
The original 2002 Sorento was a body-on-frame SUV.
The Georgia-built crossover of today features a cosmetic overhaul that brings it more inline with the Kia lineup’s latest look, and will initially offer a choice of two engines.

There’s a 191 hp four-cylinder and a 277 hp turbocharged four-cylinder, both available with front-wheel-drive or all-wheel drive on various trim.s Hybrid and plug-in hybrid models will be added to the mix late next year.
The Sorento’s interior is new and the dashboard looks like a shelf with wide frame placed on it, which houses the dual digital displays that serve as the gauge cluster and infotainment system interface.
The driver aids include Smart Cruise Control-Machine Learning, which is a kind of AI that can learn the driver’s style and adjust to it.

The X-Pro trim is inspired by the popular Telluride X-Pro and includes 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, standard all-wheel-drive with a center locking differential, unique bumpers, a roof rack and a 4,000-pound towing capacity.
Pricing and fuel economy will be released closer to when deliveries begin in a few months.
