It Turns Out The Tesla Cybertruck Does Have Door Handles … Like The Ford Mustang Mach-E’s

Someone finally got a handle on it.

A quick glance at the Tesla Cybertruck might have you asking, “how do you get in?”

The ‘bulletproof’ stainless steel pickup doesn’t have any visible door handles.

It did when it was unveiled as a concept in 2019, but they have disappeared during its development.

According to Elon Musk, it doesn’t have any … period.

“No door handles. Car recognizes you & opens door,” he posted to what was then called Twitter in 2021, the year the truck was originally scheduled to go on sale.

Now that the official launch is approaching on November 30, more and more Cybertrucks are being spotted in the wild and revealing their secrets.

Now a new video posted to TikTok by teslatowntexas offers one of the best looks inside of a production-spec truck, but that means getting inside of it first.

The way that’s done is by tapping a touchpad on the roof pillar above the door, which pops the door open, revealing a handle along its top edge that you can use to pull it open with.

If that seems familiar, that’s because it’s similar to how the Ford Mustang Mach-E’s doors are open.

The Mustang Mach-E has circles above the doors that you press to release them. The handles for the rear doors are hidden in the side, while the front doors have teeny-tiny handles sticking out to make it easier.

This isn’t to say the Cybertruck won’t also be able to automatically open the doors as you approach it, as the Tesla Model X already has this capability.

But as far as not having handles is concerned, it does, they’re just different.

Like the rest of the truck.
