The Jeep Wrangler has regained its sales lead over the Ford Bronco after falling behind its fellow American-made rival in the second quarter of 2026.
Third-quarter sales reports reveal that Jeep delivered 44,757 Wranglers, while Ford shipped 38,020 Broncos. The results were reversed in the prior quarter, when the Bronco’s tally was 45,739 and the Wrangler’s was 41,793.
Jeep has been aggressively marketing the Wrangler with special editions this year as the brand celebrates the 85th anniversary of the original World War 2 Willys MB “Jeep.”

The full-year sales race now stands at 131,011 Wranglers to 114,956 Broncos, which suggests the Wrangler should finish 2026 as the top-seller, even as the Bronco continues to close the gap.

There is a third player in this competition, however. Well, a third and a fourth. While the Toyota 4Runner and Land Cruiser don’t have removable roofs, the Japanese-built models play in the same midsize gas truck-based off-road SUV segment.

The pair, which look distinctly different but share the same platform, racked up a combined 134,684 deliveries through September, split 107,987 for the 4Runner and 26,697 for the Land Cruiser.
