Prices for several Ford F-150 Lightning models are being raised for the 2024 model year.

The new base price for an F-150 Lightning Pro with a 240-mile standard range battery is increasing by $5,000 from $52,090 to $57,090, Automotive News reported.

The standard range XLT is up $10,000 to $67,090 and the new Flash trim, which builds on the XLT and comes with a 320-mile extended range battery pack, is $75,590.

When Ford announced the Flash last October, it said it would be priced at $69,995.

The more luxurious Lariat trim has also been increased from $77,495 to $81,590. All F-150 Lightning models priced below $80,000 will qualify for the full $7,500 federal EV tax credit.

FORD IS THINKING ABOUT PUTTING AN EXTENSION CORD ON ITS TRUCKS

Ford is lowering the price of its highest trims, however, with the Platinum dropping by $5,000 from its previously announced price to $87,090 and the top-of-the-line Platinum Black by the same amount to $95,090.

Ford recently updated the Michigan factory that manufactures the F-150 Lightning to increase its maximum output to 150,000 trucks annually, but only plans to build half that amount next year do to softer than expected demand for EV trucks.

Ford delivered 20,365 F-150 Lightnings through November, which was up from 13,258 in 2022. Full-year sales results for 2023 are expected to be released on Thursday, Jan. 4.

Ford is still moving ahead with plans to open a second electric truck factory in Tennessee in 2025, which will build a next-generation electric truck that CEO Jim Farley has described as a “Millennium Falcon with a back porch attached.”
