Just a year after its launch, the Honda Passport TrailSport is getting a major makeover for 2027.

Honda has redesigned the off-road SUV’s suspension to improve wheel travel and lift the vehicle’s ground clearance by 1.38 inches to 9.65 inches. Its approach, departure and breakover angles have also been improved by at least 2% each.

The updates are substantial and include 28 reengineered parts that comprise close to 70% of the suspension components, including springs, dampers, control arms, stabilizer bars and knuckles.

Styling updates include wider fender flares and the addition of amber LED lights tucked inside of its hood scoop. The Alabama-built 2027 Passport TrailSport will also come standard with a 360-degree camera system, heated steering wheel and the Honda Trail Experience app, which includes mapping and route recording.

Power continues to be provided by a 285 hp 3.5-liter V6 that’s connected to a 10-speed automatic transmission and full-time all-wheel-drive system that channels 262 lb-ft of torque to a set of 18-inch wheels shod in 31-inch General Grabber all-terrain tires.

Honda also offers TrailSport versions of the CR-V, Pilot and Ridgeline, but the Passport has the most off-road capability and accounts for 80% of the model line’s sales.
