Look out!

Video of a Tesla Cybertruck driver wearing using an Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset on the highway has gone viral on social media.

The device can be used to provide an augmented reality view, where software icons and programs appear to hover in space that are controlled by eye and hand movements.

The man can be seen with his hands off the Cybertruck’s steering wheel and looks like he is manipulating things projected into the headset.

The Cybertruck has Tesla’s Autopilot lane-centering adaptive cruise control, but the Full Self-Driving software has not yet been activated. Coincidentally, both rely largely on computer vision provided by cameras to operate.

It’s not clear if the incident was captured organically or a set-up hoax, but the Vision Pro needs to be turned on to allow the user to see through it. It does have a speed limit, however, that’s meant to restrict its capabilities in this situation, but there is a travel mode that allows for some functionality.

The Cybertruck driver isn’t the only one to have misused it already, either.

Another Tesla owner shot a video while using one in their car, just before being pulled over by the police.
