Honda Recalling 750,000 Vehicles Due To Airbag Risk
Honda is recalling more than 750,000 recent Honda and Acura models due to an issue that could allow airbags to deploy in a dangerous fashion.
The issue stems from a front passenger seat weight sensor that may crack allowing humidity to create a short circuit.
A faulty sensor may not detect that there is a child seat or small passenger in the seat, which could allow unwanted airbag deployment and a risk of injury.
The recall affects certain 2020-2022 Honda Accord, Civic sedan, HR-V, Odyssey and Pilot models along with the 2020 Fit and Civic Coupe, 2021-2022 Civic hatchback, 2021 Civic Type R and Insight and the 2020-2021 Accord Hybrid, CR-V, CR-V Hybrid, Passport and Ridgeline.

Owners will be notified starting on March 18 and the remedy is a replacement of the part.

Honda has not issued any warnings about using the vehicles prior to having the recall work done.
