Genesis is summoning the power of creation.
The luxury automaker has announced the new Genesis Magma program for a new line of high performance models.
The sub-brand previewed the name with a GV60 Magma electric SUV, which features a widebody stance, a giant wing and is decked out in Magma’s signature bright orange paint.
Performance specifications weren’t released, but Genesis Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke said “the GV60 Magma Concept will deliver ample power, instilling customers with the confidence to drive with pure excitement and exhilaration.”

Genesis also revealed a large electric SUV concept called the Neolun, a name meant to evoke the Latin words for New and Moon.

The show vehicle is equipped with coach doors and front seats that can swivel to face the rear. A large display on the dashboard is adjustable, and flexible entertainments screens roll down from the ceiling for the rear passengers.
Heating is handled by an efficient radiant film inspired by the “ondol” heated floor systems used in Korean homes.
Kia didn’t confirm when it might go on production or any technical details, but it is similar in size to the Kia EV9 that is being built in West Point, Ga., and would need to be manufactured in North America to qualify for federal tax credits on electric vehicles.
