2025 Ram 1500 RHO High Performance Pickup Revealed With 540 HP Straight-6
Get ready to RHO, RHO, RHO your truck, but not gently.
The 2025 Ram 1500 RHO is a new high performance version of the updated Ram 1500 pickup.
The model isn’t a direct replacement for the discontinued 702 hp Ram 1500 TRX, but fills its slot in the lineup … for now.
The Ram 1500 RHO features styling that’s eight inches wider than the rest of the Ram 1500 trims.
WILL THE RAM 1500 REV GET THE FRATZONIC CHAMBERED EXHAUST?
The bulging fenders wrap around a new suspension built with forged aluminum control arms and Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive remote reservoir shock absorbers.
The shocks feature three-stage progressive jounce control and there are urethane jounce dampers in case all of the suspension’s 14 inches of travel still gets used up. A set of 18-inch beadlock wheels with 35-inch tires contribute to 11.8 inches of ground clearance.
The Ram 1500 RHO is powered by a 540 hp version of the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six-cylinder “Hurricane” engine that has replaced V8s in the Ram 1500 lineup. It sends 521 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission to a Dana 60 rear axle.
The engine breathes through an induction system with a hood duct that channels water and debris away from the intake, and it has a radial air filter in an easy-access open top box for cleaning during off-road sessions.
Ram says it will accelerate to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds and cover a quarter-mile in 13.1 seconds. Its top speed is restricted to 118 mph. The Ram 1500 RHO has a towing capacity of 8,380 pounds, a 1,520-pound maximum payload and can ford up to 32 inches of water.
Pricing for the model starts at $71,990, which is several thousand dollars less than its top rival, the Ford F-150 Raptor. It can also be equipped with many of the most high tech features that are offered across the Ram 1500 lineup, including a touchscreen video display for the front passenger that’s polarized so the driver can’t see it, head-up display and a hands-free adaptive cruise control feature that can slow and accelerate the vehicle as it approaches and exits corners on some roads.
