All-Wheel-Drive Ford Maverick Hybrid Spotted, Could Be On Sale In 2025

The Ford Maverick hybrid looks set to be getting a new model next year.

The compact pickup is currently offered with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine in front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions, but the popular hybrid model only comes with front-wheel-drive.

New photos published by Ford Authority suggest that is about to change.

A Maverick prototype was spotted wearing both Hybrid and AWD badging on its tailgate and appeared to have a rear differential.

It was also wearing some camouflage to hid its minor styling updates, but the powertrain is the big news.

The Maverick shares platform components with the Escape, which is offered in an all-wheel-drive hybrid model, so this seems like basically a plug-and-play situation.

Ford hasn’t made any official announcements about the expected 2025 updates coming to the Maverick, but the photos also reveal that it will also be getting a larger infotainment system touchscreen interface.

Maverick hybrid sales have been strong thanks to its 37 mpg fuel economy rating and reasonable $27,015 starting price.
