Reverse: V8-Powered Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Returning In 2025
The Jeeple have spoken.
Jeep has reversed course on plans to discontinue the V8-powered Wrangler Rubicon 392 this summer and has announced that it will continue to be offered in the 2025 model year.
The model is the last Jeep with a V8 engine as Stellantis looks to eliminate them from its light duty vehicle lineups. It features a 6.4-liter V8 rated at 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque that can accelerate the off-roader to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and across a quarter-mile in 13.0 seconds.
“When news broke in March that Jeep Wrangler 392 was roaring off into the sunset, the comments, coverage and conversation showed us that the Jeep community isn’t quite ready to say goodbye to the V-8-powered Wrangler,” Bill Peffer, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand North America, said in a press release. “Jeep brand listened and will continue the 392 Final Edition into the 2025 model year.”
JEEP NAMED MOST PATRIOTIC BRAND … AGAIN
Jeep is sticking with the Final Edition trim name for the 2025 trucks. Along with decals, logos and black Nappa leather seats, it gets an 8,000-pound Warn winch, a half-inch suspension lift, heavy duty rock sliders, a Mopar table that folds out from the swing gate and the Xtreme 35 wheel and tire package that features 35-inch all-terrain tires on 17-inch beadlock capable wheels.
The triple hoop grille guard and 83-piece tool kit that came with the 2024 Final Edition will not be included, which seems like a concession to customers who thought they were getting a unique limited edition vehicle. Jeep had originally planned to build just 3,300 for U.S. sale.
