Hear It: $325,000 Ford Mustang GTD Makes Public Driving Debut At Goodwood Festival Of Speed
The Ford Mustang GTD brought the noise to Britain.
Ford’s upcoming $325,000 super ‘Stang made its first official public driving debut during the Goodwood Festival of Speed on Thursday.
After ripping a good old American burnout, the 800 hp supercharged V8-powered coupe made the 1.2-mile run up the famous hill climb course as part of the Batch 6A class with Ford Multimatic Motorsports driver Frédéric Vervisch behind the wheel, but was running as a demonstration and not going for a fastest time.
Along with the absurd amount of power, the GTD features a drag reduction system that can switch from high to low downforce settings with the press of a button and you can see the rear wing opening and closing in the video.

It rides on a suspension system that is entirely different from the standard Mustang’s and features pushrod-activated shocks in the rear that are mounted transversely and visible through a window in the back wall of the two-seat cabin.
The GTD also has two sets of springs, one of which can be compressed to increase the spring rate and lower the ride height for track driving.
Ford used the Goodwood event to highlight the GTD’s Extended Color Palette option, which offers the choice of thousands of colors and lets customers lock theirs out to create a one of a kind car. Pricing for the option hasn’t been announced, but the Goodwood car is painted Indulgent Blue.
SECRET 2025 FORD MUSTANG MODEL TEASED
The GTD’s next major feat will be an attempt to lap the 13-mile long Nürburgring Nordschleife track in less than seven minutes, which would make it the fastest-ever car from an American brand.
The car has already been spotted testing at the track, but a date for the record attempt hasn’t been confirmed, although Ford said it will have more to share on the GTD in the “coming months,” while the first customer cars are expected to be delivered by the end of the year. Ford has not said how many cars it plans to build.
