The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 went out of production last year after 3,300 were built, but like-new ones are already hot items on the auction blocks.

A loaded Go Mango with 13 miles on its odometer was just sold at the Mecum Auction’s Florida Summer Special for $192,500.

That’s about $50,000 over the sticker price, but it is less than the $225,500 someone paid for one at Mecum’s Glendale, Ariz., auction in March.

The record price paid at a public auction stands at $275,000 for a Demon 170 that crossed the block at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale event in January, although one was also sold for charity at $700,000.

2018 DODGE CHALLENGER SRT DEMON SOLD FOR $286,000 IS WORTH MORE THAN A NEW DEMON 170?

The 900 hp Challenger SRT Demon 170 could very well go down in history as the quickest and most-powerful V8 muscle car ever. Dodge has given up on V8 engine cars — for now — and it’s looking very unlikely that the Chevrolet Camaro that also went out of production last year will return as an internal combustion engine vehicle.

This, despite the fact that what is believed to have been the last new Camaro ZL1 available for sale at a dealership was sold this week for $50,000 over list price, indicating some people still have a strong desire for V8 muscle.

However, Ford still makes the V8 Mustang and could dunk on Dodge with a new model. While the $325,000 Mustang GTD’s supercharged V8 is expected to have around 800 hp when deliveries start next year, Ford has a secret new model coming in 2025.

SECRET 2025 FORD MUSTANG MODEL TEASED

There’s a good chance it will be a replacement for the Shelby GT500. The old one was Ford’s top dog muscle car and had a 760 hp V8 so you can expect the next to be more powerful than that. But whether or not it can leave the Demon 170 in its dust is yet to be seen.
