Here’s How To Buy An 810 HP Roush Mustang For $54,450

There’s a new way to get a heck of a lot more ponies for your pony car.

Roush Perfromance has launched a new supercharger kit for new Ford Mustangs with the 5.0-liter V8.

The Roush Mustang Phase 2 Supercharger – 810HP Launch Edition is compatible with the Mustang GT and Mustang Dark Horse and cranks their engines up to the number in its name. That’s a boost of 324 hp and 310 hp, respectively.

The package is a collaboration with Magnuson Superchargers that uses a Roots-type Eaton TVSR2650 blower.

It’s designed to fit under the factory hoods and to be installed without removing the K-brace. It keeps the stock throttle bodies, but adds high flow fuel rails and injectors plus twin charge air coolers.

The hoses have been designed for both ease of installation and aesthetics and the supercharger housing finished in bright red with a Jack Roush signature plaque.

The associated electronics are plug-and-play, the Roush diagnostic tuning software is included and all of the parts come with a three-year/36,000 warranty. The one caveat is that they are not California certified at this time.

The kit is priced at $9,995, which means that if you install it yourself on a base $44,455 Mustang GT you end up with an 810 hp muscle car for $54,450.

This isn’t the only way to get that kind of power for the price. Ford Performance also offers its own twin-screw supercharger kit for $9,995 that produces the same amount of horsepower, but is rated at 615 lb-ft while the Roush kit is rated at 630 lb-ft.

Considering the only factory 800 hp Ford on the horizon is the upcoming $325,000 Mustang GTD, either of these kits can fill a niche left by the currently unavailable Shelby GT500.
