The 2-Door Pickup Is On The Endangered List

Ford F-150

The Ram 1500 Classic is being discontinued and a classic truck style with it.

Ram has been offering the last-generation light duty pickup alongside an all-new model since 2019, but has announced that it will soon be out of production.

The 1500 Classic was positioned as a budget offering with a focus on commercial customers, but is also sold in a more lifestyle-oriented Warlock trim.

Aside from the age, one big difference between the two is that the 1500 Classic was available with a two-door Regular Cab as well as an eight-foot bed, while the new 1500’s entry level trim is a Quad Cab with a six-foot, four-inch box.

Ram hasn’t indicated any plans to change that, which means Ram customers looking for that body style will have to step up to a heavy duty Ram 2500.

The lowest priced 2500 Regular Cab with an 8-foot bed is $47,245, while the 1500 Quad Cab with the six-foot, four-inch bed is $42,270.

Toyota also doesn’t offer a two-door full-size, but the Double Cab Tundra that’s equivalent to a 1500 Quad Cab can be ordered with an eight-foot, one-inch bed for $42,240, while one with a six-foot, five-inch bed is available for $41,910.

Light duty truck shoppers still have two-door options, however, as the F-150, Silverado 1500 and GMC 1500 are all still available with regular cabs.
