The 1,064 hp 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is set to become the most-powerful gas-powered American mass produced car ever when it goes on sale next year, but the mid-engine supercar will be getting some new competition from its forebear.

Hennessey Performance has announced the launch of American Icons: The Revival Series, which is a limited edition run of seventh generation Corvettes with the company’s 1,000 hp HPE1000 upgrade.

The package can be ordered for a Z06 or ZR1, but Hennessey has put a limit of 25 builds for each model.

The custom modifications to the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 include: a high-flow induction system; a supercharger pulley; long-tube stainless steel headers; a new camshaft, ported cylinder heads; new valves, springs, lifters and pushrods; and high-flow catalytic converters.

Along with the 1,000 hp, the engines are rated at 966 lb-ft and cars with the eight-speed automatic get transmission enhancements to handle the extra power and torque.

The chassis is left stock, but the cars all get commemorative serialized engine bay plaques plus a package of Hennessey badges. Pricing for the work, which includes dyno and road testing before delivery, is $44,950 on top of whatever the donor car cost.
