7:30 p.m. PT – the event has not yet started.

The movie sets at the venue have been set up to create a future world where there is a Metropolis, West World and New York.

A fake movie poster posted by Elon Musk may be a teaser for the design of the Robotaxi.

Musk rode across the lot to the stage in a gold car he referred to as the Robotaxi, but then began calling the Cybercab. It has two seats, butterfly doors, no steering wheel and a luggage compartment. The vehicle features inductive charging and does not have a plug.

Musk said the Cybercab will be sold and should cost less than $30,000. He suggests people could own and operate their own fleets. He believes the Model 3 and Model Y will be capable of fully autonomous operation sometime in 2025 and that the Cybercab will be on sale in 2026. The autonomous operation is contingent on government regulations allowing it and Musk said Texas and California would likely be first.
