A 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse Just Sold For $350,000 AND $250,000 — Here’s Why

A 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse was sold at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Fall auction on Friday for an eye-popping $350,000.
The model has a sticker price of about $75,000 with options and there was nothing special about this one, except what it was being sold for.
The car was donated to the event by collectors Mike and Tracy Patterson to raise money for hurricane relief work being done by the Samaritan’s Purse charity in the aftermath of Helene and Milton.

The full hammer price was earmarked for the organization, but there was plenty more where that came from.
As often happens at charity auctions, the winning bidder immediately donated the car and it was auctioned again, this time for $250,000. On top of that, the Pattersons put an extra $100,000 in the till.

The $700,000 total was twice what was paid when the first 2024 Mustang Dark Horse (VIN 001) was auctioned at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale event this past January to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Barrett-Jackson will be auctioning another VIN 001 vehicle on Saturday for charity. General Motors has donated the order slot for the first electric Cadillac Escalade IQ with the money from the sale earmarked for the Detroit Children’s Fund.
