Big Oly is back. Finally!

Saleen has revealed a modified version of the new Ford Bronco that’s inspired by one of the most historic trucks of all time.

“Big Oly” was a first-generation Bronco race truck that won the Baja 1000 in 1971 and 1972 at the hands of Parnelli Jones and Bill Stroppe.

The radically rebuilt SUV got its nickname from the now-iconic white and gold Olympia Beer sponsorship it wore for the races.

The limited edition build starts with a two-door Bronco with a turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 that Saleen tunes from 330 hp and 415 lb-ft to 375 hp and 500 lb-ft.

There’s a steel front bumper/bash plate combo, a new rear bumper, vented fenders and hood plus a “high downforce” wing at the trailing end of the roof. The bumper and top of the windshield each get a rack of off-road lights.

Interior upgrades include seats trimmed in leather and Alcantara, an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and dashboard trim that matches the Olympia Beer scheme. Saleen will also offer the build in a range of colors without the livery.

“The Saleen Bronco is for the enthusiasts who grew up with the Saleen legacy, but now seek adventure beyond the pavement,” Steve Saleen said in a news release.

“It’s a vehicle that embodies everything we stand for—speed, technical capability, and uncompromising style; the perfect blend of nostalgia and next-generation off-road engineering.”

Pricing hasn’t been announced and Saleen has not yet responded to a request for more information from American Cars And Racing. That said, it’s safe to say it will be a lot cheaper than the real deal.
