The 2027 Hyundai Tucson Is A Crater Face

The 2027 Hyundai Tucson has been revealed with chiseled styling inspired by the Crater concept that debuted at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The compact crossover features bulging fenders, a blunt front end with a light strip and a roof that slopes downward toward the rear to give it a very dramatic overall look.

The Alabama-built model will be offered with the choice of a 184 hp 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine or a 233 hp hybrid system, both available with either front- or all-wheel drive.

The gas models are rated at 28 mpg and 26 mpg combined, while the hybrids get up to 42 mpg and 40 mpg combined with the proper wheel and tire combination.

The new Tucson is slightly larger and roomier than the outgoing generation and has an entirely different interior layout.

Instead of a single wide binnacle encompassing the gauge cluster and infotainment screens, it has a slim instrument cluster and a larger tablet-style touchscreen between the seats, which controls an infotainment system enabled by a new Gleo AI assistant, while retaining Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. A row of physical buttons and knobs is positioned below it for the climate and audio system controls.

High-end trims feature tufted cushioned surfaces on the dashboard, massaging seats and Relaxation Comfort Seats that recline nearly flat for resting when the vehicle is parked. However, the most exciting new grade is the rugged XRT Pro, which is only offered with the gas engine. It comes standard with all-wheel-drive, all-terrain tires, 8.3 inches of ground clearance, extra body cladding, front and rear fascias designed for improved approach and departure angles, plus a set of red recovery hooks.

Hyundai opted to drop the plug-in hybrid version of the Tucson this time around due to low demand. Full lineup specifications and pricing will be announced closer to when deliveries begin early next year.
