The Acura RSX Is Returning As An Ohio-Built Electric SUV
Acura is bringing back another classic model … name.
On the heels of the return of the Integra and ZDX names to the brand’s lineup, Honda-owned Acura has announced that its first homegrown electric vehicle will be called the RSX.
The compact electric SUV is set to enter production at the new Honda EV Hub in Ohio.
The last RSX was a two-door hatchback that succeeded the Integra in 2001 and was sold until 2006.

The new vehicle that has been revealed in a single image wearing a camouflage pattern wrap features a coupe-like roofline and will be built on the all-new electric vehicle platform that Honda showcased at CES with its 0 Series concepts. Unlike the current ZDX, which is built for Acura by General Motors using its electric vehicle technology, the 0 Series and RSX have been entirely engineered by Honda.

“We began production of Acura vehicles in America 30 years ago, so we are excited to make the Acura RSX the first EV we build at the Honda EV Hub,” Mike Fischer, executive chief engineer and leader of the Honda North American BEV Project said in a news release. “The establishment of the Honda EV Hub represents not only the start of EV production but the complete reimagining of our approach to manufacturing that will establish our global standard for EV production.”
