Cadillac Really Wants To Win The 24 Hours Of Le Mans This Year And Is Sending 4 Cars To Do It

Three hasn’t been the charm, but maybe four will be this year.
Cadillac has announced that it has secured four entries for the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans as it continues its quest to win the iconic race for the first time.
Cadillac put three cars in the Hypercar class in 2024, but the best they could do were seventh, 29th and a DNF following third, fourth and seventeenth place results the prior year.
“We’re thrilled to have Cadillac Racing return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans with four cars competing for the overall win in the Hypercar class,” John Roth, vice president, global Cadillac said in a news release.

Two cars will be fielded by Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA and one each by Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing and Whelen Cadillac. Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing finished fifth and 53rd in this year’s 24 Hours of Daytona and Whelan Cadillac’s single car came in 15th. Full driver lineups for the 24 Hours of Le Mans teams have not yet been announced.
Cadillac will be expanding its motorsports efforts in 2026 when it enters Formula 1 with a two-car team. It will initially use Ferrari powertrains, but is developing its own with an eye on having it ready for the 2028 season. Ford is also reentering Formula 1 in 2026 as a powertrain partner with Red Bull and recently announced plans to launch a Hypercar effort that will race against Cadillac at Le Mans in 2027.
