The $174,995 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is set to be a very limited edition model, but the 2025 edition of the 233 mph supercar will be particularly special. That’s because it will only be in production for a couple of months before a big change kicks in.

Assembly is expected to begin in May and end in August, when the Bowling Green Assembly plant switches over to the 2026 Corvette. More than just a model year changeover, the 2026 car represents a mid-generation update that includes a redesigned interior.

The current Corvette lineup features a buttress extending from the dashboard that has climate control and other buttons on top of it, which has been its most-maligned style feature. For 2026, Chevrolet has replaced the structure with a grab handle and moved the controls to a row of toggles under the touchscreen display.

That screen is larger than the current one and a smaller touchscreen has been added on the left side of the digital instrument cluster, which has also been refreshed.

So, while there are many thousands of Corvette Stingrays, Z06s and E-Rays out there with the current interior, Chevrolet will likely only be able to build several hundred ZR1s, if that many, with the old interior, making them the rarest versions of the model. Even if the new interior is considered better, the cars with the old one could very well become sought-after collectibles in the years to come.

Chevrolet hasn’t announced any mechanical updates for the 2026 lineup yet, but did confirm two new paint colors for the ZR1: Roswell Green Metallic and Blade Silver Metallic. So it’s already creating more potential one-year builds.

Along with its 233 mph top speed, the 1,064 hp ZR1 can do a quarter-mile in 9.6 seconds and has set production car lap records at several U.S. tracks. The final feather in its cap awaits, however, as Chevrolet has yet to release a lap time from the benchmark Nürburgring Nordschleife, where the Ford Mustang GTD just set an American record at 6:52.072.
