The Ford F-150 Raptor is an impressive, premium off-road pickup inspired by desert racing prerunners, but you can get a premium F-150 that’s actually a desert racing prerunner.
Brenthel Industries is one of the country’s top trophy truck builders and it is now offering a Luxury Prerunner. It is an entirely street legal truck built on a trophy truck chassis with the fiberglass body of an F-150.
It features a tube frame built with 4130 steel and a long travel suspension with remote reservoir Fox coilover shocks, 4130 steel control arms for the front independent suspension and a rear four-link suspension with billet aluminum trailing arms.
Power comes from GM in the form of a LS3 6.2-liter V8 that can be cranked up to 1,000 hp with a supercharger. It gets set to the rear axle through a TH400 transmission fitted with a Fortin underdrive for lower gearing.

Six-piston Alcon brakes handle the stopping, a 95 gallon fuel cell carries the go-juice and built-in hydraulic jacks lift the truck if you need to change one of its 40-inch tires.

The crew cab interior is fitted with four Sparco racing seats with heavy duty sliders up front. The steering wheel is a quick-release setup, but is adjustable for rake. All of the instrumentation is digital and there are dozens of buttons and knobs for all of its systems and auxiliary features, including a built-in fire suppression system. Cupholders are provided, of course.

Every truck Brenthel Industries builds is customized to the buyer’s specifications, so pricing isn’t firm, but the Luxury Prerunner starts around $850,000.
