The Ford F-150 Lightning Is Beating The Tesla Cybertruck As The Best-Selling Electric Pickup — Here’s The Full List

The Ford F-150 Lighting is trucking along in the face of new competition.

When it first launched ini 2022 it was the only full-size electric pickup and its only rival was the smaller Rivian R1T, but then Tesla, Chevrolet and GMC got into the game.

Ford initially hoped to sell it at an annual rate of 150,000 trucks, but the market turned out to be softer than expected even as it got more crowded and that goal was lowered substantially.

Just over 33,000 were delivered in the U.S. last year, which was second to the Tesla Cybertruck’s 38,965, but Cybertruck sales have fallen off a cliff this year allowing the F-150 Lightning to pass it for the number one spot.

Here is a look at the best-selling electric pickups through the first half of 2025, according to Kelly Blue Book:

1. FORD F-150 LIGHTNING: 13,029

F-150 Lightning sales are off last year’s pace, but it holds a solid lead in the sales race thanks. Ironically, one of the new features recently introduced to broaden its appeal is the ability to use Tesla’s Supercharging network with an adapter and the Tesla app. Starting prices currently range from around $55,000 to $85,000.

2. TESLA CYBERTRUCK: 10,712

Tesla has lowered prices and added a new entry-level long range model that lists for $69,990, but the moves haven’t been able to keep Cybertruck sales near last year’s pace. The $79,990 All-Wheel Drive and $99,990 Cyberbeast are also available.

3. CHEVROLET SILVERADO EV: 5,439

The Silverado EV was a newcomer last year and has been steadily gaining ground as new trims are added to the lineup. Silverado EV prices range from approximately $55,000 for a commercial WT trim to $98,000 for a Max Range that can go 460 miles between charges.

5. RIVIAN R1T: 3,479

Rivian R1T
The Rivian R1T was updated with new features and powertrains for 2025, but the brand’s customers have been moving toward the R1T SUV, which has been outselling the pickup by three to one so far this year. The R1T starts at $71,000 for a 553 hp model with 270 miles of range and steps up to a $120,000 model with 1,025 hp and 374 miles of range.Credit: Rivian

6. GMC SIERRA EV: 2,773

GMC HUMMER EV PICKUP?

Sales of the GMC Hummer EV pickup and SUV are bundled together and combine for 7,987. Neither GM or Kelly Blue Book breaks out the pickup, so it isn’t possible to say for certain what the mix is, but sales of the combo are up 73.7% this year.
