The Acura RSX is back, and it’s nothing like you remember it. Honda is debuting an RSX Concept at Monterey Car Week ahead of the production version’s arrival next year.

Instead of the two-door hatchback it borrows its name from, it’s an electric compact four-door SUV that will be built at Honda and Acura’s new EV Hub in Ohio, starting in the second half of 2026.

It is entirely unrelated to the Acura ZDX that’s on sale today and built for the brand by General Motors.

The RSX is designed on Honda’s all-new global EV Platform, which will also underpin the Honda 0 Series lineup and the Sony Honda Mobility Afeela.

“The dramatic styling of our Acura RSX Prototype demonstrates that it’s not just a new EV, but a compelling all-new Acura model,” Lance Woelfer, vice president of Auto Sales at American Honda said in a news release. “RSX will deliver on nearly four decades of Acura Precision Crafted Performance brand DNA with appealing design and cutting-edge technology.”

Acura didn’t reveal the RSX’s interior design or announce detailed specifications, but said it will be a performance-oriented model with all-wheel-drive, a double-wishbone front suspension and Brembo brakes.

It will also be the launch vehicle for the ASIMO operating system, which will allow for over-the-air updates to many of the vehicle’s systems and manage its electronic driver aids, customizing itself to the driver’s preferences. Acura hasn’t offered an estimated price, but the larger ZDX starts at $65,850.

The EV Hub will operate in conjunction with Acura and Honda’s internal combustion engine production at the facility, where the Acura Integra and Honda Accord are currently built and will be for years to come.
