During the now-concluded NASCAR antitrust trial, the head of competition for the series, John Probst, testified that he is “very optimistic” that a new manufacturer will join the Cup Series in 2027.
He didn’t name any, but Ram is returning to the Truck Series in 2026 with Kaulig Racing. Tim Kuniskis, the CEO of Ram and all of the American Stellantis brands, confirmed on a recent episode of American Cars And Racing’s The GAS podcast that the company has “100% intention to try to get to Cup.”
“That’s not a 100% guarantee, because it is very difficult to do and it takes a long time, there’s a lot of stuff,” he said.
The “stuff” includes developing an engine program, which isn’t necessary for the Truck Series, where an Ilmor-built spec engine is available to all teams. You basically just need a unique body and you’re good to go.

Fortunately for stock car racing Dodge fans, it now has one of those based on the new 2026 Charger Scat Pack … just not for NASCAR.
Dodge is launching Charger-style bumper covers for the ABC Late Model bodies built by Five Star Racing through its Direct Connection parts catalog.

ABC Late Models combine generic bodies with branded front and rear clips that are designed to be aerodynamically identical. Ford, Chevy and Toyota styles are also available. The Dodge Charger version includes unique headlight and taillight styles inspired by the production car’s along with the triangular Fratzog logo.
“After months of detailed analysis, data review and controlled wind tunnel comparisons, the next-gen Dodge Charger Nose has demonstrated full compliance with the parity standards outlined in Appendix A,” Marty Melo, chairperson of the ABC committee, said in a news release. “We are confident this nose will integrate seamlessly into competition while preserving the competitive balance essential to the integrity of the sport.”
Sales begin on Jan. 1 and Five Star Bodies lists the front ends for $164 and the rear ends for $155. Mounting hardware is also available.
