The Jeep Wrangler traces its roots back to the humble 60 hp 1941 Willys MB that served in the U.S. military, and now you can get one with 1,000 hp that’s built like a tank.
California custom car builder Rezvani Motors has revealed the latest version of its Wrangler-based Tank SUV, which features a new body and powertrain options.
The Tank’s polygonal styling looks like the offspring of a light tactical vehicle and a stealth fighter and nothing like the Wrangler’s. The interior remains mostly stock in design, but gets upgraded seats and can be trimmed and upholstered in a variety of leathers.
The base price for a 285 hp V6-powered model is $175,000 for the appearance, but Rezvani offers a long list of functional upgrades including several engine swaps from the Mopar catalog.
Among them are a 500 hp 6.4-liter V8 for $45,000, a 707 hp Hellcat supercharged 6.2-liter V8 for $65,000 and a 1,000 hp Demon supercharged 6.2-liter V8 for $85,000. Rezvani also offers the Tank with the Wrangler 4xe’s plug-in hybrid powertrain for no upcharge, but that model was just discontinued by Jeep.

The Tank comes with a four-inch suspension lift tuned for the street, but an off-road setup is a $3,500 option and there’s an extreme off-road setup with Fox remote reservoir shocks for $12,500. The standard tires are massive 37-inch Nitto Trail Grapplers, but the Tank can be ordered with 40-inch tires for $1,750 that necessitate a six-inch lift.

Customers looking for a Tank that’s not just for show can opt for a $42,000 Security Package that includes features like a smoke screen, siren, blinding lights, electrified door handles and pepper sprayers integrated into the vehicle.

An $85,000 Armored Package adds to that small caliber bulletproof glass and steel ballistic body panels and underbody explosive protection, while a $145,000 B6 Armored Package uses composite armor that’s 50% lighter and rated for high caliber weapons. A center console safe for your own handgun is $950.

There’s also a $6,250 Starry Night headliner with LED lights and a midnight blue tint that will help you calm down and forget about the dystopian world for which the Tank looks like it was built.
Go crazy with the options list and it’s not hard to get the Tank’s price over $450,000, which is more than the U.S. military pays for an actual Joint Light Tactical Vehicle.
