A 23-Mile Ford GT Was The Most Valuable American Car Sold On Bring A Trailer In 2025 And The Model Dominated The List

2022 Ford GT Carbon Series

The Ford GT may be out of production, but it has still got it.

The 2017-2023 supercar accounted for the 12 most valuable American cars sold on the Bring a Trailer auction website in 2025, a list it has come to dominate in recent years. Well, technically American-Canadian, as the second generation GT was assembled by Multimatic in Markham, Canada.

The top sale was a 2022 Carbon Series with just 23 miles on the odometer and an original $630,845 list price. At this point, don’t expect it to accrue many more miles. As with many GTs, it will likely spend the rest of its days as a static collectible.

Another of those is a 13-Mile 2018 Competition Series that first sold for $529,200 and was sixth on the Bring a Trailer list with a $900,000 sale.

Thirteenth on the list wasn’t a second generation GT, but it was a first generation 2006 Heritage Edition with 962 miles on its odometer that went for $850,000.

That was followed by a 26-mile 2022 GT ($845,000) and a 180-mile 2020 GT Carbon Series ($840,000) before we find an American-made GT with a different kind of Canadian connection.

The 2006 Heritage Edition was originally purchased by NHL hockey legend Wayne Gretzky and has spent time registered in both the U.S. and Canada during its lifetime.

It’s not until you get to 24th on the list that you find a car that’s not a GT, but it does have a Ford engine. The authentic 1963 Shelby Cobra 289 Mark I is one of 216 cars like it that were built, is powered by a Ford 289-cubic-inch V8 and sold for $715,000.

Keep scrolling through more GTs, including one that was once owned by the late actor Paul Walker, and you eventually get to the first car that’s not Ford-related. And it’s an odd one.

The 2010 Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale Zagato is one of nine Dodge Vipers that were redesigned by the Italian coachbuilder with a carbon fiber Kamm-back body, while retaining its factory 8.0-liter V10 drivetrain. With 1,900 miles on the odometer, it sold for $600,556 to finish thirty-third on the list.

The GT will probably take most of the top spots in 2026, but it does have some competition coming in 2027. The new Ford Mustang GTD is essentially its successor and — while the starting price when it launched last year was about $112,000 less than the 2017 GTs at $327,000 — it is another limited edition hot ticket car that’s sure to be a future collectible. However, as with the GT, buyers must agree to not resell it for two years, meaning the first likely won’t be hitting the auction block before 2027. The rule is meant to prevent flipping them for profit, which might just mean they’ll be worth more when the time is up.
