“Sorry to disappoint the competition.”
That’s what Hendrick Motorsports said in a social media post announcing that Kyle Larson and his crew chief Cliff Daniels have extended their contracts with the team.
Larson is signed through 2031 while Daniels has a new multi-year deal, the length of which has not been specified.
Larson, the 2021 and 2025 NASCAR Cup Series champion, has been the winningest driver in the series since joining Hendrick Motorsports in 2021. Since then, he has 26 wins and also leads in second place finishes (18), top-five finishes (78), top-10 finishes (103), and laps led (7,149).

Larson joined Hendrick Motorsports after being suspended by NASCAR and let go from Ganassi Racing in 2020 for using a racial slur during a livestream event.
“I’m incredibly grateful to continue my career with Hendrick Motorsports and HendrickCars.com,” Larson said in a team news release. “This team, this organization and this family have given me everything I need to compete at the highest level. We’ve accomplished a lot together, but I truly believe the best is still ahead. I’m grateful to Mr. Hendrick and JB for believing in me, and I’m excited to keep chasing wins and championships with Cliff and the 5 team for many more years.”
