NASCAR’s New ‘Car’ Is All About The Beer

NASCAR's Beer Can Car

NASCAR might have to start up the Busch Series again.

NASCAR has revealed the mystery car it teased in a social media post on Wednesday night and it definitely isn’t what anyone expected.

Online speculation about what was hidden under the sheet ran from an electric race car to Dodge’s long-awaited return to the Cup Series, but that all got canned with a Thursday post.

The “something cool” that was promised turned out to be very different. The sheet was pulled off to reveal a car-shaped stack of Busch Light beer cans, from which a motorized NASCOOLER emerged, being driven by Trackhouse Racing’s Ross Chastain, who is sponsored by the beer brand.

The vehicle features a carbon fiber steering wheel, quick release drain and a big a** spoiler, while the cooler is filled with special edition Daytona 500 cans. It’s all part of NASCAR’s new “Hell Yeah” promotional campaign, which kicked off with a commercial after the Super Bowl that also featured a cooler full of Busch Light.

NASCAR also set up a billboard in New York’s Times Square on Tuesday with an engine stuck in it, which Ross Chastain throttled to set the Guinness World Record for loudest billboard.
