Dodge CEO Matt McAlear Named Chrysler CEO

Dodge CEO Matt McAlear

Matt McAlear just tripled his workload.

The Dodge CEO has added the roles of Chrysler CEO and Head of Alfa Romeo North America to his resume, following the departure of the latter brands’ former boss Chris Feuell for “personal reasons.”

McAlear has been with Stellantis since 2013 and at the helm of Dodge since 2024. He was the senior manager of Chrysler product marketing in 2016 for the launch of the Chrysler Pacifica minivan — currently the brand’s only model aside from the Voyager, which is a low-priced version of the same vehicle.

The Pacifica is set to be refreshed for the 2027 model year and will be followed by two new SUVs and a sedan. At least one of those vehicles will likely be based on a platform shared with a Dodge, as was the last Chrysler 300, so having McAlear in charge of both brands helps streamline things.

As with many automakers in recent years, Chrysler and Alfa Romeo had been planning to become all-electric brands, but will continue to offer internal combustion engine models.

Alfa Romeo’s lineup is also in need of new product. The midsize Guilia sedan and Stelvio SUV are each more than a decade old and the Tonale compact crossover accounted for just 3,383 deliveries in 2025.
