Subaru is about to complete its electric vehicle lineup with a fourth model that will be unveiled at the New York Auto Show on April 1.
“Power up your next family adventure with 420 horsepower and legendary Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive,” is all the company said in a news release that was accompanied by a teaser image of the vehicle in shadow.
Subaru America’s COO Jeff Walters told Automotive News in February that a three-row electric model was on the way this year, so it’s not too hard to connect that dot to this one.
The vehicle is expected to be a version of the new electric 107 Toyota Highlander and be built alongside it in Kentucky starting later this year.

If that’s the case, Subaru is getting a more powerful model, as the all-wheel-drive Highlander is rated at 338 hp with 320 miles of driving range between charges.

Subaru’s three other electric vehicles — the Uncharted, Solterra and Trailseeker — are also joint-ventures with Toyota, but they are all imported from Japan.
The Uncharted, which is twin to the Toyota CH-R, holds the distinction of being the first Subaru offered in the U.S. with front-wheel drive, although an all-wheel drive version is available.
