Jeep has created a modern take on the classic CJ and Wrangler Laredo.
The trim hasn’t been used on the truck line since the 1990s, but returns on a vehicle rolled out at the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab.
The Wrangler Laredo Concept is based on a Wrangler Willys with a V6 and six-speed manual transmission and is equipped with several unique features.
Among them is a Sky Slider top, which is essentially a manually operated version of the Sky One-Touch power top that pairs a tan spatter coat hardtop frame with a retractable fabric roof insert.

Jeep also installed a Jeep Performance Parts 2-inch lift kit and a set of 17-inch chrome slotted mag wheels with 37-inch tires. The white, gold and brown color scheme is a throwback look directly inspired by past Laredos and half-doors add to the open-air feel.

The interior features fabric trim on the seats and dash with a southwestern design and vinyl flooring instead of carpeting. A Jeep Performance Parts air system is mounted to the tailgate. The model hasn’t been confirmed for production, but many of the Easter Jeep Safari concepts preview future showroom offerings.

Another one of this year’s Wranglers is a far more elaborate custom. The Wrangler Rubicon-based Wrangler ANVIL 715 Concept features a new front end modeled after Jeep’s historic SJ-series trucks and is outfitted for overland-style adventuring.

The blunt design cants forward, incorporates yellow headlights and is topped by a specialyl designed hood with a wide air intake that feeds a 392 V8. It also has a fixed roof that adds headroom and has an integrated roof rack and skylight windows.

The flooring is coated in bed liner, the seats upholstered in a durable material and the standard infotainment system replaced with a large dashboard-mounted tablet loaded with a Trails Offroad mapping system.

Given the significant redesign, the Wrangler ANVIL 715 is less likely than the Wrangler Laredo to spawn a production model, but it demonstrates the Wrangler platform’s possibilities.
