Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf has relinquished his role and is taking medical leave after learning he has cancer.n The second-generation Chrysler employee shared the news in a LinkedIn post.
Broderdorf became Jeep CEO in September 2024. He did not share the details about his condition.
“Recently, my life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with cancer. But with it, has come clarity and a lesson in priorities, perspective, and humility. One perspective has become impossible to ignore: sometimes the greatest act of leadership is knowing when to put the team’s needs ahead of your own. So, with a heavy heart – but complete confidence in the brand’s future – I’ve made the decision to step aside and hand the reins to another leader.” Stellantis said that Broderdorf will “assume a new leadership role” upon his return.
Former AutoNation president Branden Coté will succeed Broderdorf as Jeep CEO and Stellantis also announced the hiring of Matt VanDyke as Ram CEO.
VanDyke takes over the position from Tim Kuniskis, who was named the Stellantis Head of American Brands last July and has held the dual roles since.
VanDyke has been the president of automotive digital marketing firm Shift Digital since 2022, but previously worked at Ford for more than two decades.
