The Toyota Tundra is getting an update for 2027 with refreshed front end styling and tech, along with the addition of a new Trailhunter model.
Toyota already offers the Tacoma Trailhunter and 4Runner Trailhunter, which are outfitted for overland-style off-roading. The Tundra Trailhunter is a package for the SR5 trim that adds an Old Man Emu suspension, front recovery hooks, additional skid plates, Michelin LTX Trail 265/70R18 tires, a locking rear differential and bronze wheels. It also comes with the Multi-Terrain Select traction and stability control system and the low-speed Crawl Control cruise control for rugged terrain.
What it doesn’t include are pricey features like steel bumpers, a sway bar disconnect and an air intake snorkel, which can be had on the other trucks. Toyota said the intent was to “make adventure-ready capability more attainable” with the Tundra Trailhunter, which is a step below the more extreme Tundra TRD Pro.
Full details and pricing for the Texas-built Tundra lineup will be announced this fall, but a 2026 SR5 4×4 starts at $53,705 with the non-hybrid i-Force turbocharged 2.4-liter V6 that is the only engine option and is rated at 389 hp and 479 lb-ft.
All of the 2027 Tundras get a standard 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Toyota’s latest interface, which is easier to use and more configurable than the outgoing version.

The Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 package of electronic driver aids with pedestrian-detecting emergency brakes, lane-centering adaptive cruise control and a Proactive Driving Assist that can automatically reduce speed for corners and slower traffic is also standard.
