When the producers of the Austin Powers film franchise needed an American counterpart to Power’s very British, Union Jack-clad “Shaguar” Jaguar E-Type, only one car would do: A Chevy Corvette wrapped in the Stars and Stripes.
That’s what Heather Graham’s CIA agent character Felicity Shagwell drove in “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.” She and the car were introduced in the film to the soundtrack of Lenny Kravitz’s cover of “American Woman,” and the Corvette also appeared in the song’s video.
The 1965 Convertible is now coming up for auction at the Carlisle Auctions event in Pennsylvania the weekend of Oct 1-2.
Along with the custom paint job, it is still equipped with its original numbers-matching 327/350 hp V8 and has a four-speed manual transmission.
The car was auctioned by New Line Cinema in 1999 for $121,000, put through a frame-off restoration in 2007-2008 and has been driven about 7,000 miles since then.

The Corvette was last offered at the Mecum Auction’s Kissimmee event in January where it received a high bid of $175,000 that did not meet its undisclosed reserve, while the Shaguar was sold at the same event in 2025 for $880,000. According to the Hagerty price guide, similar Corvettes without the Hollywood connection are currently selling for around $113,000.
The Carlisle Auction will be held at the the Carlisle Expo Center and features several Corvettes on this year’s lot list, including multiple frame-off restored second-generation convertibles with more conventional paint jobs.
