A Stingray would’ve been more appropriate!

YouTube underwater treasure hunter Brandon Jordan was searching for sunken cars the Savannah River near Waynesboro, Ga., with sonar earlier this month and found a seventh-generation Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport buried in the silt.

The car was in remarkably good condition whey Jordan’s team pulled it out. It features a distinctive split paint scheme with blue on one side and black on the other and apparently all of its original parts, including the engine and transmission, were still on it.

It also still had its license plate, and when they ran it they found it had been reported stolen in 2020, so the Burke County Sheriff’s Office sent an investigator and recovered the vehicle.

The car also had an Instagram handle on the windshield that was no longer active, but photos of the car reporting it stolen were found on another account that led back to its last owner. The investigation into exactly how and why the car ended up in the river continues. The crew also found and recovered a fiberglass Mercedes 540K replica nearby.
