David just beat two Goliaths. Toyota has clinched the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series Manufacturer Championship with three races left to go this season. It is Toyota’s fourth since joining the series in 2007.
Toyota’s nine full-time cars are the fewest behind Ford’s 12 and Chevrolet’s 15. It won the title on the strength of 18 victories in the 33 races so far, including Tyler Reddick’s and 23XI Racing’s win at Phoenix this past Sunday.
Manufacturers earn points only from their top-finishing car at each race, and stage points don’t count. Reddick came home from Phoenix with 55 for Toyota, second-place Ryan Blaney with 35 for Ford and third-place Chase Elliot with 34 for Chevrolet. That put Toyota 219 points ahead of Chevy and 267 ahead of Ford on the season, while a three-race sweep would score just 165 points.
Reddick has the most wins of the year with six, followed by fellow Toyota driver Denny Hamlin’s four for Joe Gibbs Racing. Blaney and his Penske Racing teammate Joey Logano each have three, as does Hamlin’s teammate Chase Briscoe, while no Chevy driver has more than two.

“Our team members at TRD (Toyota Racing Development), along with our partners at 23XI Racing, Joe Gibbs Racing and Legacy Motor Club, have delivered at the highest level all season,” Tyler Gibbs, president, TRD, U.S.A., said in a news release. “This is a very important title for Toyota and TRD because it represents the teamwork, effort and passion of countless people across our organization and throughout our teams. We couldn’t be more pleased to have that work pay off with our fourth manufacturers’ title.”
The driver’s championship remains very much up for grabs, with the top seven drivers all within 56 points of leader Kyle Larson. Adding stage points and a bonus point for the fastest lap, each race is worth up to 76 points if a driver sweeps it.
