Kaulig Racing will be keeping its current driver lineup when it switches to Dodge for the NASCAR Cup Series in 2027.
The team confirmed that A.J. Allmendinger and Ty Dillion will be staying with the team for the inaugural season. Allmendinger had previously signed a long-term contract with the team earlier this year, but Dillon’s has now been extended.
“We just celebrated the 10th anniversary of Kaulig Racing, and I have never been more confident and excited about our future,” team owner Matt Kaulig said. “This is a landmark moment for our organization, our partners and the Dodge brand. From our humble beginnings to being named the anchor team for the fifth-largest automaker in the world is an incredible honor and a challenge our team is ready to face.”
Kaulig said the team was a good fit with Dodge, which decided to jump into the series quicker than expected.

“They wanna be a bunch of badasses, they want to make a big splash and that’s how we want to be,” Kaulig said.
“Bringing Dodge back to the NASCAR Cup Series is a massive responsibility and one we don’t take lightly,” Kaulig Racing CEO Chris Rice added. “We knew we needed to put proven veterans behind the wheel to build this program, and no one knows Kaulig Racing better than AJ and Ty. We are introducing a lot of new parts, pieces and variables into our program, so being able to keep some consistency behind the wheel was important for our inaugural season with Dodge. I look at 2027 like we are pouring the foundation for our future.”

Dodge will be revealing its car on Dec. 4 and is expected to be using motors built by ECR Engines, which supplies the Chevrolet V8s that Kaulig currently runs in its Camaros until it develops its own. Technical details have not been shared, but NASCAR said that it will not bge identical to the Chevrolet engines and that Chevy, Ford and Toyota have all signed off on the plan.
