These 10 SUVs Are Most Likely To Reach 250,000 Miles
SUVs are the best-selling vehicles in the U.S. these days, but the term covers a lot of territory.
Some are trucks aimed at towing and off-roading, others are crossovers that put families at the forefront, and several really do try to do it all.
But a a few stay on the road longer than others and iSeeCars.com has rounded up the models that are historically most likely to reach 250,000 miles during their lifetime, based on recent used vehicle sales data.
TOYOTA SEQUOIA
The US-Built Toyota Sequoia topped the list with a 36.4% chance of reaching 250,000 miles. That’s 4.7 times better than the 7.8% average for all models.

TOYOTA 4RUNNER
The Japan-made Toyota 4Runner was a distant second to its stablemate with a 26.8% chance of making it to 250,000 miles.

TOYOTA HIGHLANDER HYBRID
And the Toyota Highlander Hybrid made it a top three sweep for Toyota. The three-row SUV that’s currently built in Indiana showing a 25.9% chance of hitting the quarter-million-mile mark.

CHEVROLET SUBURBAN
Chevrolet has been selling Suburbans since 1935 and 22% of those sold recently were in it for the long haul to 250,000 miles.

LEXUS GX
The Lexus GX is another one of Toyota’s unstoppable Made in Japan models with
20.7% of them listed at 250,000 miles or more, although we doubt any of the brand-new 2024 examples have reached that milestone yet.
GMC YUKON XL
The GMC Yukon XL is mechanically identical to the Silverado, but can’t match its longevity with just 17.9% of them breaking the 250,000-mile barrier.

CHEVROLET TAHOE
The Chevrolet Tahoe is just a shorter version of the Suburban and was listed with 17.7% at 250,000 miles or more.

HONDA PILOT
The Alabama-built Honda Pilot is one of its all-American models a 17.5% are still on the road after 250,000 miles.

TOYOTA HIGHLANDER
The conventional Highlander can’t match its hybrid brethren. Just 15.7% of those sold during the study period had made it to 250,000 miles.

GMC Yukon
As with the Tahoe, the short-wheelbase GMC Yukon came up short compared to the stretched version and sent 14.6% across the 250,000 mile frontier.
