Truck production has entered the dog days of summer at General Motors.

GM will be idling the Fort Wayne Assembly plant in Indiana that builds the Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 next week due to an unspecified parts shortage.

A GM spokesman told the Detroit Free Press that production is scheduled to resume after Labor Day on June 5.

The automaker is also suspending the third shift at its midsize pickup factory in Wentzville, Mo., for the week.
