The Canadian autoworkers union Unifor will begin striking General Motors’ Oshawa Assembly plant on Tuesday, bringing truck production to a halt at the key facility.

The factory is the only one that builds the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and Silverado HD models on the same line. The HD is also built in Flint, Mich., while 1500 models are assembled at several North American locations.

The union last month reached an agreement for a new contract with Ford, but continues negotiations with GM.

Unifor will also strike GM’s Woodstock Parts Distribution Center and the St. Catharines Propulsion Plant, the latter of which builds engines and transmissions for the Kentucky-assembled Corvette and the Chevrolet Equinox.

GM has not announced how production of the Equinox and Corvette will be affected by the action, but the Corvette has been intermittently hit with production issues this year due to a variety of supply issues, mostly related to carbon fiber trim pieces for some models, according to Corvette Blogger.
