The Toyota Camry, America’s best-selling car, has been redesigned for 2025.

That’s literally best-selling “car” as there are several trucks and SUVs ahead of it on the list, including the Toyota Rav4, which overtook the Camry as the most popular vehicle that’s not a pickup truck in 2017 and never looked back.

Toyota is calling the Camry the ninth-generation model, but its overall shape suggests that it is an evolution of the current model, in much the same way the latest Honda Accord was derived from its predecessor.

The biggest styling departure is the front end, which adopts C-shaped headlight accents similar to the ones on the Prius and a large lower grille.

The Kentucky-built Camry will come standard with a hybrid powertrain in both front and all-wheel-drive versions for the first time.

Both use a 2.5-liter four cylinder engine and two electric motors to drive the front wheels, while the all-wheel-drive model adds a third electric motor for the rear wheels that’s not mechanically connected to the rest of the system.

Fuel economy hasn’t been announced, but the combined power outputs are 225 hp for front-wheel-drive models and 232 for all-wheel-drive models.

The Camry will be offered in four trim levels – LE, SE, XLE and XSE, all available with either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive.

The first two feature a 7-inch digital gauge cluster and 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system display, while the top two get a pair of 12.3-inch screens and an availble head-up display.

Standard safety features across the lineup include lane-centering adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detecting automatic brakes, blind spot monitors and a proactive driving assist that can intervene with brake and steering support if you’re going to fast into a curve or quickly approaching another car, cyclist or pedestrian.
