USA’s Haas F1 Reveals 2024 Car With Pessimism
Haas F1 is first off the line.
The only American-owned Formula One team has revealed its 2024 car.
Renderings show a slightly modified body and an updated take on the team’s black, white and red color scheme with a small U.S. flag on the nose.
However, team isn’t expecting much from it at the start of the season.

Team principal Ayao Komatsu told Racer that time spent on mid-season updates last year delayed development on the 2024 car that will hit the track for testing in Bahrain later this month.

“Out of the gates in Bahrain … I still think we’re going to be towards the back of the grid, if not last,” Komatsu said. “The reason our launch-spec car is not going to be quick enough in Bahrain is not because of the quality of the people we have here, but it’s because we started late and then we stopped for two months to do the Austin upgrade.”
“It really diverted resource, so we lost time there, but the team is finding good gains in the wind tunnel so that’s positive and in terms of characteristics, it’s going in the right direction.â€

Haas finished last in the F1 constructor standings last year, dropping from eighth in 2022. One thing is for certain, it will be the top American team fort the next several years.
Formula One this week announced that it was rejecting Andretti-Cadillac’s bid to enter a team in either 2025 or 2026.

The series said it didn’t think the team could be competitive enough to add value, but might reconsider for 2028, when Cadillac’s new power units were scheduled to be ready.
