Kyle Larson Wins Las Vegas NASCAR Cup Series Race In Dominant Style
Kyle Larson left little doubt.
The Hendrick Motorsports driver picked up his first win of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday in a repeat of his playoff win at the track last fall.
Larson was the second-fastest qualifier, but quickly asserted his dominance on the tire-torturing track and swept the first two stages on his way to victory, just like the last time he was there.
Larson ran a high line near the wall for much of the race and looked very much in control as he lead 181 of the 267 laps run.

Tyler Reddick was the only driver that had anything on him, finishing in second at both stage breaks and the end of the race.
Reddick made a late run in the closing laps and got within a second of the lead, but Larson masterfully positioned his car to kill Reddick’s runs and was able to stay in front with a .441 seconds margin of victory.
“I knew Tyler was going to be the guy to beat from the first stage. He was really fast there. I was hoping those guys were going to get racing a little bit longer behind me because I felt like it was going to time out where he was running really hard and getting the tow to catch me at the end,” Larson said during his post-race interview on Fox.
“Thankfully was able to air block him a couple laps and get him tight. I thought him and Bubba were going to get working together again to build a run, so I was happy that didn’t happen.”
Ryan Blaney, Ross Chastain and Ty Gibbs rounded out the top five, while Las Vegas native Noah Gragson finished in sixth to notch his second top 10 result this year for Stewart-Haas Racing.
Larson’s HendrickCars.com Chevy was the second vehicle with the sponsor to win at Las Vegas this weekend after Rajah Caruth’s victory in the Truck Series race on Friday night.
Caruth had earlier in the week learned that HendrickCars.com would be the primary sponsor on his Spire Motorsports Chevy for the rest of the season.
